The key declarations, statements, guiding documents and major reports from the Biofuture Platform​ set a common ground and understanding among its member countries and provide the leading pathway for creating the Biofuture the world needs

While impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, bioenergy and the bioeconomy offer a sustainable path to building back better, promoting green jobs and development. The 20 Biofuture Member Countries support these Principles to guide the consideration of bioeconomy in broader post-pandemic economic recovery programs. 

The 2017 Biofuture Platform Vision Declaration outlines our country member's aspirations and explores actions to fulfill our mission.

The 2016 Biofuture Platform Launch Statement provided the initial mandate, guidance and direction from its 20 founding member countries 

As the world’s climate goals cannot be met without biofuels and bioproducts, the landmark 2018 "Creating the Biofuture" Report, mapped barriers to progress and showed how scaling-up a sustainable low carbon bioeconomy can promote sustainable development, economic growth, energy security, and fight climate change.

Approved by the twenty member countries in December 2018, the Biofuture Governance Framework reinforced the Platform´s institutional position as a key driver of international collaboration, formalizing roles for members and partners and setting the stage for the IEA's assumption of the Facilitator role in February 2020.
