About the event
The Biofuture-led Global Cooperation Forum: towards a common preflight checklist for the Biofuture Takeoff will promote a debate among policy makers, international agencies, and private sector representatives on how to build a “minimum checklist” of policies and other actions to create the right environment and framework for the global takeoff of the low carbon bioeconomy. Examples can be seen in policies like RFS, LCFS, and RenovaBio, as well as actions to foster a smart sustainability framework, R&D collaboration, dialogue with civil society and financing, including through climate and green bonds.
The delegates will exchange ideas on a minimum agenda/checklist/action plan that could be put together and how to rally stakeholders around it. The conclusions will feed into the work of the Biofuture Platform, formally mandated by Member countries to build an action plan with specific targets and a monitoring mechanism to implement their Vision Declaration.
The event is part of the ABLC Global 2018 Conference, which will also comprise the IEA Bioenergy end of triennium meeting, the US Department of Energy´s Bioeconomy 2018 Conference, and several industry events related to the low carbon bioenergy and bioproducts.
